Last paycheck question

Hello all,
I'm on terminal leave until 31 December and officially retire on 1
January. I just checked my latest LES and it has all the usual stuff,
base pay, BAS, BAH etc but under the deductions, it has something
called "Status Det" which reduces EOM pay to $0.00. Also, under the
remarks, it expands on it, calling it "Status Determin HLDPAY Bal"
Is this SOP? Or maybe I"m reading this wrong, which I hope is the
case.

It looks like they took some of your pay for a debt.

Did you:
Forget the return a basketball at the gym?
Keep that magazine instead of returning it to the library?
Damage that set of NVG's you signed for?
Go "in the hole" last time you went on leave?

In other words somebody, someplace thinks you owed them some $$ and sent it
over to the pay section. I'm thinking it's not a done deal- they should be
able to show EXACTLY what it went for (like a receipt with your signature,
etc).

Your final pay will be released on, or shortly after, your last day of
active duty. No regular checks are issued. That is why your LES reads the
way it does, your pay is "held" until the transition point finance office
makes input to release your final pay, which will include any accrued leave
cashed-in and clothing replacement allowance due.

You're welcome, Bob, and welcome to the group.

If your bank doesn't have a deposit within 5 working days after you retire
you need to call the DMPO at the Transition Point and find out why.
Sometimes they get "overlooked".
